WOMEN EMPOWERMENT COMMUNITY SCHOLARSHIP

Dianne Wong (DW) is dedicated to making a positive impact on women’s lives through education and empowerment. In line with our commitment to fostering gender equality and supporting women’s career growth, we are proud to introduce the DW Women Empowerment Community Scholarship Program. This comprehensive initiative not only provides financial support but also offers specialized spa training and job placement opportunities, aiming to empower women from diverse backgrounds to thrive in the spa and wellness industry.
The DW Women Empowerment Community Scholarship is a multifaceted approach designed to address the unique challenges women face while pursuing careers in the spa and wellness sector. Our goal is to create pathways for women to gain the skills they need to succeed in this field, ultimately leading to financial independence and personal fulfillment.

Program Objectives:

  1. Education and Training: This program provides women with access to high-quality spa training, equipping them with the knowledge and skills required for a successful career in the spa and wellness industry.
  2. Financial Support: Recognizing that financial barriers can hinder women’s educational and career aspirations, BGIC offers scholarships to cover tuition and training expenses.
  3. Job Placement: BGIC collaborates with reputable spa and wellness establishments to facilitate job placements for program graduates, ensuring that they have opportunities to apply their newly acquired skills in a professional setting.
  4. Community Building: BGIC fosters a supportive community among scholarship recipients, encouraging networking, mentorship, and ongoing personal and professional development.

Program Components

DW WOMEN EMPOWERMENT COMMUNITY SCHOLARSHIP CONSISTS OF:

  1. Scholarship Application: Eligible women can apply for the scholarship by submitting an application through our website. Applicants are required to provide personal information, express their career goals in the spa industry, and demonstrate financial need.
  2. Specialized Spa Training: Selected scholarship recipients will undergo rigorous and industry-relevant spa training programs at BGIC, including coursework on spa management, wellness practices, and customer service.
  3. Job Placement Assistance: BGIC partners with spa and wellness businesses to facilitate job placements for program graduates. This ensures that participants have opportunities to gain practical experience and secure employment upon completion.
  4. Community Support: Scholarship recipients become part of a supportive community of women pursuing careers in the spa and wellness industry. BGIC organizes networking events, mentorship programs, and ongoing career guidance to empower participants throughout their journey.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • Aged 18 to 25 years from residential care homes, community centers or poor. Needy community with household income lesser than RM30,000 per annum.
  • Needy community with household income lesser than RM30,000 per annum.

SCHOLARSHIP VALUE

  • Full tuition fees
  • Book/Materials purchases
  • Accommodation at BGIC Hostel
  • Allowance

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED

  • Attach the certified true copy document(s) for the Online Scholarship Application
  • SPM/PMR certificate or equivalent
  • Parents’/ guardian’s latest Income Tax Statement
  • Latest 3 consecutive months’ salary slips/ any other proof of income. For retirees, the last drawn pay slip must be enclosed

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

  • Complete the Online Scholarship Application Form, with the required supporting documents.
  • Scholarship selection interviews will take place in every first of month.
  • Only applicants shortlisted for an interview will be informed via a phone call followed by an email by mid of month.
  • Applicants that are not shortlisted will receive an email/ WhatsApp communication.

SCHOLARSHIP T&CS

  • Only Malaysian/ Thailand citizens are eligible to apply.
  • Minimum 1 year of spa working service which recommended by BGIC based on scholars desired location is required after course completion.
  • Scholars are required to participate in the group counselling session, talk, workshop and meeting specially designed for all scholarship recipients and assist in the projects run by the BGIC campus community.
